Viral warts on the foot or toes

Plantar Warts are skin lesions that are caused by the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). Plantar Warts can appear in clusters or be a single wart and they can be quite painful and make walking uncomfortable, however, some people experience no pain.

Plantar Warts can spread to other areas of the feet or other people, and you can contract them from places like public bathrooms and swimming pools where there is dampness and warmth. Our Podiatrists recommend that when travelling and attending communal areas, footwear is advised to reduce your risk of contracting Plantar Warts.

Commonly plantar warts can be mistaken for corns however a Podiatrist can make a correct diagnosis for you.
